Wellbeing and Family Support
Although we are able to offer a wide range of support in school for pupils and families, there are a number of external organisations that are able to support families further or in different ways.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust have launched a new support website for children's health and wellbeing. Specifically for parents and carers of primary school aged children. The website contains information to support you during a child’s primary school years.
The website is primarily a health information and promotion website, covering important features of a child’s health and development, including healthy minds, healthy bodies, health issues and where to get professional help and support.
We work on a diverse range of projects. Some are projects we create or take on and deliver, others are partner projects to which we contribute, offering consultancy, advice and project management/support.
We are mindful that to support children and young people we need to also consider those around them. Therefore, although some of our projects involve direct work with children and young people, others are focused on supporting their families, carers or peers. We also run projects aimed at the children and young people’s workforce, that is those who work or volunteer with children, young people or families, or are responsible for improving their outcomes as all or part of their job.
External Agencies
There may be any number of reasons why a young person might experience challenges with negative emotions and mental health. We believe the conversations about healthy minds and emotions should be ongoing and part of everyday discussion; we know at any given time a student might feel anxious, worried or upset; they might be dealing with a difficult situation or bereavement. I therefore wanted to ensure parents/carers know of the services that are available, and especially that many of these can be accessed 24/7.
We would recommend you do have active and continuing conversations with your child around positive mental health and where they might go for any information, advice and support if they need it; the following are some excellent local services we want to make sure you and your child know about:
Childline
ChildLine offers free and confidential support for children and young people up to the age of 19. This is a 24/7 service.

We have a supportive and open culture around mental health in our school and we also want parents, carers and students to know that this support is also available outside of school too in the wider community – so if anyone does need any extra help, it is always there whether during school hours or at evenings, weekends and in the holidays.
Please do let us know if you have any questions/queries about this and please do contact us direct if there is anything effecting your child that you would like to alert us to and discuss with school.
Bereavement
As a school we are able to provide a number of different support options to families that have or will be experiencing a bereavement. Please feel free to come an talk to us at any time. We also have a Rainbow's Group which runs every couple of weeks in school for pupils to be able to spend time with other children who have had the same experience.
